Be patient and consistent during their development phase - they can change and try to understand their place in the world - they can sometimes oppose reasons and feel. Don't minimize their feelings with their hopes "overcome them". Their feelings are real and influence them in a way that needs to be handled. Be practical and constructive in your approach - they might need your wisdom and organization - even if they say no.You cannot and may not protect them from all pressures and risks. You must set limits and consequences of what can be accepted and unacceptable at home, school, and elsewhere.
